Summer Edition - (last updated 21/08/2006)

PARISH COUNCIL has continued to meet regularly; there was a meeting on 20 April and the Annual Parish Meeting 18 May was very poorly attended. The Chairman gave the Annual Report which had already been circulated to each house in the parish. There were very few items raised for discussion.
The Annual Meeting of the Parish Council was held after the Parish Meeting. Cllr Stuart Martin was elected Chairman for the year 2006/2007 and Cllr Mrs Greed elected vice Chairman. The Clerk reported that the Internal Auditor had finished and the accounts would go for external Audit 1 July. The Parish Council met again on 29 June and the next meeting is scheduled for Thurs 21 September 8pm in Buckworth Cricket Club.
As reported in the Parish Pump the May Walk was poorly attended the money raised (plus a donation from Parish Council) was sent to MAGPAS. Total £50..

ALL SAINTS CHURCH Services have continued as the usual pattern.

The concert by AMICI on Saturday 8 July ‘Spread a Little Happiness’ did just that. The music was wonderful, the scenery exceptional (you had to be there to really appreciate it), the supper as delicious as ever. The concert was a sell out but our dedicated team of helpers did the usual remarkable job. A great big thank you to all involved! …it was a superb evening of exceptional entertainment. £1800 was raised for the Church restoration fund.
Thanks to all who regularly support this event.

The Harvest Festival is on Sunday 10 September at 11am. Produce and donations will be gratefully accepted.

Ladies Group will meet again the First Tuesday in September.
