PIMMS & THINGS AT OWL COTTAGE
Raising money was a piece of cake..... ...sandwiches and drinks on the lawn. Yvonne and Peter Waterhouse raised £1,200 for the Addenbrookes Charitable Trust by holding a garden party at their home in Buckworth on the 26th of July. "I just wanted to do something to help and say a big thank you to all the people in the Addenbrookes radiotherapy department for just being great during my recent treatment there." said Peter.
The presentation on the 7th of August was made in one of the state of the art treatment rooms which deliver life saving treatments to cancer patients all over the Eastern region. The photo shows Peter and Yvonne presenting the cheque to radiographers and Jo Treeby, Advanced Practitioner Urology whose work will be supported by this donation.
By raising money for Addenbrookes Peter and Yvonne thought it would help the practitioners at Addenbrookes put into practice the advances in treatment that are emerging all the time. Peter personally benefited from a new treatment regime based on US research only completed last year. Yvonne said “Holding the party was hard work on the day, but I was amazed how generous people were and I hope they enjoyed it as much as Peter and I did."

Dear Villagers
Sometimes I would like to play out occasionally but as you know we can't because people drive too fast through the village so we can't and another thing is that me, my sister, my dog and my dad like to have a walk sometimes but there is no pavement, like I said people drive too fast and we can't get speed bumps so I am really sad
