Services continue in the same pattern for the time being. Our lovely curate Martin Kettle is leaving our group of parishes and going to live in Oxfordshire. There is a leaving service for him at Alconbury on 22 August and a Buckworth farewell is being arranged.
ANNUAL GARDEN PARTY SUNDAY 29 AUGUST 2010 2pm onwards in the gardens of Peacehaven and The Rowans, Barham Rd. All the usual entertainments and food. If you would like to donate plants, cakes, bric a brac or offers of help to run a stall, please contact me on 890982.
HARVEST FESTIVAL….SUNDAY 12 SEPTEMBER 2010 11AM. If you would like to donate produce or help to decorate the Church please contact the Churchwardens. Everyone is welcome to come and celebrate and give thanks for the harvest.
THE BELLS… as many of you know the bells are being lowered into the vestry for safety reasons. Whilst this work is going on we ask that you only go into the Churchyard when necessary and obey any safety instructions posted in and around the Church. It will take many thousands of pounds to restore the bells and tower and it is unclear as yet where the funding (if any) will come from.

Parish Council the next meeting will be held on Monday 16 August at 8pm. The Village Lunch & Games will be held on Sunday 12 September at 1pm…..please be sure to let the Council know (if you haven’t already done so) the numbers attending from your family. This should be an excellent village event…so roll up, roll up and enjoy.
To contact the Council email Buckworthclerk@aol.com or ring the Chairman on 891543 or Fiona Morrison the acting clerk on 890885.

Our meetings are fun with lively discussions on literature including the “odd” favourite poem; also book and magazine swaps. We have a variety of book types over the coming months (everyone reads at their own speed & there is no pressure to finish a book by a certain date). The Dec. meeting will incorporate a Christmas Party. If you would like further information about the club contact me on 890982 or just come along to the meeting. There should be news shortly of the Junior Browsers Club which will hopefully meet on a Saturday. From October the library van will only be coming once a month (government cuts in spending) see notice board for details. --------------------------------------------------------------------
