Buckworth Cricket Club - (last updated 03/04/2014)

Cricket club
Buckworth cricket club was established in 1958 when the village pub; the Fox and Hounds was closed. The building was converted from a former animal shed, the building being provided free of charge by George Brown.
Today the club provides a social venue and watering hole for residents of the village and surrounding parishes; the club is for members (a small membership fee is charged each year)and guests are always welcome at the many social events arranged by the committee.

The Cricket Club now has its own web site www.Buckworthcricketclub.co.uk

Supper Club continues to be very well supported and the meals will continue through the Spring. Please remember to let Yvonne Waterhouse (01480 890058) know in advance if you wish to attend so the caterers can prepare accordingly.

The Arts and Crafts group continues to meet on Tues between 2 and 4pm (changing to evenings in summer), with crochet, knitting, felting, cross-stitch, dress-making and quilting being just some of the examples of work that have been brought along. We hope that list will lengthen as others join. There is a £1 SUBSCRIPTION each week to contribute towards the heating and tea/coffee.
